"Lotus Fields"

Lotus is a plant familiar to Japanese people. Feelings towards this plant vary among those who see it.

I am attracted by its strength and resilience as a living creature.
This work represents a moment in which a drop of water is about to fall from lotus leaves, swayed by wind.
In a country with huge desert area, what kind of feeling do people of this country have towards a drop of water?

How do they see “the distances between lotuses, which are mutually related in a certain manner”?
With variety of thinking and idea, I have completed this work (by Masahiro Hasegawa).
