Bestowal of the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun upon H.E. Rashed Abdullah Alnuaimi, Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates

On the 3th of November 2024, the Government of Japan announced its decision to bestow on H.E. Rashed Abdullah Alnuaimi, Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun in recognition of his tremendous contribution to strengthening bilateral relations and promoting friendship between Japan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Serving as the representative of Abu Dhabi at the 1970 Osaka Expo, H.E. Alnuaimi laid the foundation for the relationship between Japan and Abu Dhabi and created opportunities for closer political and economic ties between Japan and the UAE in the years that followed. His Excellency also played an important role in the development of bilateral relations between Japan and the UAE, serving as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the UAE from 1977 to 1990 and as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE from 1990 to 2006.
