On 22 February 2015, the 1st workshop by Abu Dhabi Tawteen Council(ADTC) and Japan International Cooperation Center on Emirati female entrepreneurs development opened in Al Ain. H.E. Ali Rashid Al Ketbi, Chairman of ADTC and Mr. Kenji Hirata, Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Japan attended the opening ceremony and gave a speech.

H.E. Yoshihiko Kamo, Ambassador of Japan to the UAE attended the 5th Annual Joint TRC-JCCP/Idemitsu Workshop at Takreer Reserch Center on February 11 2015. In his remarks, he welcomed that the TRC has become one of the successful models of cooperation between Japan and the UAE and played a fundamental role in developing the refining industry in the UAE.

On 17 January, H.E. Yoichi Miyazawa, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry and H.E. Yasuhide Nakayama, State Minister for Foreign Affairs took co-chairmanship in the Fifth Assembly of International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) which was held in Abu Dhabi from January 17, 2015 for two days.

Dr. Maitha Salem Al Shamsi, Minister of State as a guest of honour. His Majesty the Emperor will turn 81 on 23 December.

Yoshihiko Kamo, Ambassador of Japan to the UAE attended the inauguration Ceremony of Shuweihat S2 Power and Water Plant Project in Al Gharbia, Western Region, Abu Dhabi on 10 October 2013 in the presence of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region. More than 100 officials from Japan and UAE were present. Marubeni Corporation, a Japanese corporation, has taken part in the project.

H.E. Yoshihiko Kamo, Ambassador of Japan, visited Mubarraz Island on 10 October 2013. Ambassador Kamo had a tour in the island where Abu Dhabi Oil Company (ADOC) is operating the oil field since 1967. It is worth mentioning here that the whole crude oil production from the Mubarraz Island is exported to Japan.

Ambassador of Japan visits the Gas Processing Plant (Habshan-5) in Habshan
H.E. Yoshihiko Kamo, Ambassador of Japan, visited the construction site of the natural gas processing plant (Habshan-5 project) in Habshan on 7 July 2013. Ambassador Kamo was attended by both Mr. Abdul Aziz Al Ameri, Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Ltd., and Mr. Kobayashi, executive officer of JGC. In the near future, the natural gas plant will be transmitted to the UAE power supply plants through pipelines.

Ambassador of Japan visits to Ruwais Refinery
H.E. Yoshihiko Kamo, Ambassador of Japan, visited Ruwais Refinery on 8 July 2013. Ambassador Kamo had a tour in the refinery guided by Mr. Ali Mohamed Al Jaberi, Senior Vice President, in charge of Ruwais Refinery of Abu Dhabi Oil Refining Company (TAKREER). Japan is a main importer of oil products refined by the Ruwais Refinery.

H.E. Ambassador and Mrs. Kamo officially visited IWPP (Independent Water and Power Producer) in Fujairah on 20 June 2013. A Japanese company, Marubeni Corporation, contributes in the operation and maintenance of the project.

Signing Ceremony of the Japan-UAE double taxation convention and nuclear cooperation agreement

The Japan-UAE double taxation convention and nuclear cooperation agreement were signed on 2 May 2013 in Dubai in the presence of H.E. Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan, and H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE.

Visit to Das Island
Guided by Mr. Fahim Kazim, Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Gas liquefaction Company (ADGAS), H.E. Ambassador Kamo visited LNG processing facility and terminal in Das Island on 25 March 2013. The LNG project in Das Island has continuously supplied LNG to Japan since 1977.
