Judo Japanese Ambassador’s Cup 2019

The Embassy of Japan in the UAE, together with the UAE Wrestling and Judo Federation and Japan Oil Development Co., Ltd. (JODCO), hosted the 4th Judo Japanese Ambassador’s Cup on November 8. Ambassador Nakajima watched the tournament with more than 100 Judo-kas (Judo players), including both boys and girls. This year, the number of girl participants surpassed that of boy participants, and a new category “kata” was introduced for the first time. Also, young people of determination, trained by Mr. Naoya Haraghuchi, the Japanese judo coach at the UAEWJF, demonstrated their weekly practice. Ms. Megumi Tachimoto, an eight-time Judo Grand Slam winner, attended as a guest to demonstrate some Judo techniques together with Mr. Haraghuchi.
