    On February 23, H.E. Akio ISOMATA, Ambassador of Japan to the UAE, hosted the National Day Reception in Abu Dhabi in commemoration of the 63rd birthday of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan with the presence of H.H. Sheikh Nahayan bin Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence as guest of honor. H.E. Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology-cum-Special Envoy to Japan, H.E. Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State, H.E. Al Sayed Ali Al Hashem, Presidential Advisor on Judicial and Religious Affairs, as well as guests from the UAE government, diplomatic missions, Japanese and UAE companies and friendship organizations etc., joined the celebration for the occasion.

    In his remarks, Ambassador ISOMATA expressed his condolences to the victims of the recent devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, and Japan's solidarity with the people of Ukraine in the face of the ongoing crisis. He also mentioned the importance of: free and open international order based on the rule of law; partnering with countries responsible for peace and prosperity for tackling various global challenges. He also reiterated Japan’s commitment to working closely with the UAE for the success of COP28. With regard to the Japan-UAE bilateral relations entering the “Next 50 years” of friendship and cooperation this year, he stressed the importance of cooperation in the field of education and human resource development, noting as well steady developments achieved during the past year, which marked the 50th anniversary of Japan-UAE diplomatic relations.
