Ceremony of Conferment of the Order of the Rising Sun, Silver Rays on Mr. Farag Barakat Al Sayed Barakat

On July 26, H.E. Akio Isomata, Ambassador of Japan to the UAE, hosted a conferment ceremony, in which the Order of the Rising Sun, Silver Rays was conferred on Mr. Farag Barakat Al Sayed Barakat, External Relations Manager and Arabic language teacher at Japanese School in Abu Dhabi.
The awarding of this decoration was announced by the Japanese government on April 29, 2023 in recognition of Mr. Barakat’s contribution to the educational exchange between Japan and the UAE as well as to human resource development.
The Abu Dhabi Japanese School is a very unique, one-of-a-kind Japanese school that accepts Emirati children along with Japanese children. Mr. Barakat has taught Arabic language and culture of the UAE to Japanese children. He also promoted the understanding on Japanese culture and customs among Emirati students based on his experience and understanding on it, helping them acquire different cultural perspectives and diverse values, as well as enriching their mind with global awareness. As Manager of External Relations, he has contributed to the smooth operation of the Japanese School in Abu Dhabi.
Mr. Barakat has made a significant contribution to the strengthening of bilateral relations between Japan and the UAE in the field of educational and cultural exchanges as well as human resource development.
