On March 23, Mr. and Mrs. Akio Isomata, Ambassador of Japan to the UAE, hosted the National Day Reception in commemoration of 62^nd birthday of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan in Abu Dhabi. H.E. Dr. Maitha Salem Al Shamsi, Minister of State, attended the occasion as Guest of Honor. Guests from the UAE government, diplomatic missions, Japanese and the UAE companies as well as friendship organizations etc., took part in and celebrated the occasion.

Ambassador Isomata said in his remarks that at the juncture of the 50th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and the UAE, Japan is committed to actively broaden its frontiers of cooperation with the UAE with two important pillars in mind--- human resource development and innovation---, citing examples such as acceptance of Emirati students at Japanese School Abu Dhabi, cooperation in the fields of outer space, decarbonization, etc. He also mentioned close cooperation between the two countries towards Expo 2025 Osaka・Kansai, and expressed Japan's solidarity with the people of Ukraine regarding the ongoing crisis there.
