Before Applying Visa
The Embassy of Japan is authorized to issue visas to citizens of the UAE and expatriates residing in Abu Dhabi and Al-Ain. Expatriates who reside in other emirates should apply at the Consulate-General of Japan in Dubai.
e-Visa (application online) : Tourism purpose only
Only those who wish to visit Japan for tourism purposes have the option to apply online for a single-entry e-Visa.

Visa (application in person at the Embassy) : All purposes
The Embassy will examine applications approximately within a week after submission. Applicants may be requested to submit additional documents that are deemed necessary for the examination. Furthermore, visa applications may be forwarded to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for further examination in Japan. Visa application documents will not to be returned to applicants.
A visa application can be submitted No more than 3 months, Not less than a week prior to arrival date to Japan.
Before submitting application documents to the Embassy for examination, kindly make sure you Remove All staples and Glue your personal photo to the Application Form.
NO prior appointment is required.
