Conferral of the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays upon Mr. Naser Al Tamimi, Secretary General of the UAE Wrestling and Judo Federation

On 3rd of November 2022, the Government of Japan announced that Mr. Naser Al Tamimi, Secretary General, UAE Wrestling and Judo Federation, will be bestowed the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays in recognition of his significant contributions to promoting judo in the UAE.
Mr. Tamimi has been contributing to spreading the Japanese martial art, judo for more than 20 years since he was appointed as Secretary General of UAEWJF in 2001, playing an important role in nurturing local judokas and promoting judo in the UAE. As Treasurer of the International Judo Federation, he successfully initiated the Abu Dhabi Judo Grand Prix, the first of its kind in the Middle East, which has continued as Abu Dhabi Judo Grand Slam since 2014. It is also worth mentioning that the UAE has been sending judokas to every Olympic Games since 2008.
The Embassy of Japan in the UAE has the honor to pay tribute to Mr. Al Tamimi for his distinguished service on the occasion of the conferral.
